JA-RU Toys , a Florida-based toy company , boasts a rich legacy spanning three generations. Established in 1961 by Bernard (Bernie) Selevan, the company originated in Bernie’s garage. The name “Ja-Ru” is a combination of Bernie’s sons’ names, Jack and Russell, both of whom joined the business in 1969 and 1975, respectively. Today, Jack’s sons, Marc and Andrew, along with Russell’s daughter, Hope, continue to lead the company.
