Estimating your prep costs
Most FBA prep centers charge a per-unit fee for each service (labeling, polybagging, bubble wrap, bundling) plus a receiving or handling fee per carton. Add up the per-unit services, multiply by your unit count, then add the receiving fee to get your total prep cost for the shipment.
Prep costs add up fast on low-price items. If a unit costs $4 wholesale and needs $0.80 of prep, that is a 20 percent cost bump, factor it into your margin.
