The narrative of Mountain Woods Furniture is a tale of love—a passion for the art and craftsmanship of crafting top-tier rustic furniture that has spanned over four decades, making MWF a pioneering force in the US rustic furniture industry.
Founder and president, Tim Saltonstall, initiated this love story in 1973 just outside Laramie, Wyoming, when he built his inaugural piece of rustic furniture. Since then, every MWF creation reflects his original vision, inspired by the majestic Rocky Mountains and brought to life by skilled craftsmen who meticulously handcraft each piece.
From 2001 to 2010, the company was under the ownership of Mike and Dee O’Connell. With a profound appreciation for log furniture, the O’Connells navigated MWF through a decade of substantial industry changes, positioning the company at the forefront of the sustainability movement as a Founding Member of the Sustainable Furniture Council.
Continuing the theme of love, Daryl and Maureen Joy acquired MWF in 2011, with Mr. Joy expressing admiration for the quality of the product after visiting the plant.
Today, Mountain Woods Furniture is celebrated for its fusion of award-winning traditional design, innovative creativity, meticulous craftsmanship, and enduring durability. The diverse product line, comprising over 200 items, brings a rustic aesthetic to various settings, including log homes, ranches, ski chalets, lodges, hotels, and traditional homes.
