Henri Abesera, the visionary behind Olivia Care, found inspiration in the beauty of Provence during his boyhood in Paris. The region, adorned with ancient olive trees, vineyards, lavender fields, and healing herbs, is renowned for its rustic, old-world traditions and the captivating scents that grace the air. Henri, captivated by these surroundings, ventured back to Provence during visits from the United States. In 1994, during a transformative trip to Marseille, the heart of Provence, he acquired a bar of soap named “Savon de Marseille.” Remembering his grandmother’s endorsement of this soap for its versatility, cleansing efficacy, and skin-soothing properties, Henri discovered that it was composed of 85% pure Olive Oil and held rich cultural significance. Created by Emperor Napoleon’s chemist, Eugene Michele, the soap’s traditional production method has endured through the ages.

Henri’s conviction in the transformative properties of this “miracle soap” led him to establish Olivia Care in 1996. The company, a family-owned venture with Henri’s wife, chose the name as a nod to the soap’s primary ingredient, olive oil, and its commitment to caring for the skin. Over the past two decades, Olivia Care has expanded its reach to five countries, staying true to its roots by offering an array of all-natural, paraben-free, and cruelty-free products. Today, Henri’s son and daughter actively contribute to the brand, ensuring that Olivia Care continues to embody the essence of its origins.
