Variety Distributors Incorporated is a cooperative distributor owned by its members. It was established in 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri, by a collective of store owners seeking a more convenient means of receiving their merchandise. In 1956, Variety Distributors Incorporated relocated to its current site in Harlan, Iowa, situated 60 miles east of Omaha, Nebraska.
