Since 1912, Versaggi Shrimp Co. has been a family-owned shrimping operation based in Tampa, Florida. As fourth-generation shrimpers, the Versaggi family continues a proud tradition of harvesting wild-caught shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico using sustainable practices passed down for over a century.
Their six boats spend up to 30 days at sea, fishing primarily under darkness — when shrimp are most active and easier to catch. After sorting by hand and flash-freezing onboard, the shrimp are brought back to their dockside “fishhouse” where they’re sold fresh to the public and local seafood distributors.
